Pest Control & Wildlife Removal Services in St. Augustine, FL

A raccoon thumping across the ceiling of a Lincolnville cottage, roof rats running the live oaks off King Street, or spiders tucked under the eaves of a Davis Shores ranch house: when it happens in St. Augustine, you call Quick Catch. We handle humane wildlife removal and pest control in St. Augustine 7 days a week, and one call to 904-859-6585 gets a local technician on the schedule.

America’s oldest city is also one of its most wildlife-friendly. Coquina walls, salt marsh, canals, and centuries-old buildings give animals and insects plenty of places to hide. Since 2007, owner Ryan Boyd and our family-owned team have been trapping, removing, and sealing out wildlife across Northeast Florida, then following up with the repairs and pest treatments that keep it from coming back.

Wildlife Removal in St. Augustine

Please do not wait it out. An animal in the attic rarely leaves on its own, and every week it stays means more chewed wiring, torn insulation, and droppings soaking into old wood. Spring visitors are often mothers with young, so a small problem in February can become a family of five by May. The sooner we find the entry point, the smaller the repair.

Raccoon Removal

From Lincolnville attics to Davis Shores docks, raccoons are one of the most common wildlife calls in a waterfront town. We remove them humanely, check for young, and close the roofline openings they used.

Birds / Pigeon Removal

Beyond the noise and mess, birds can clog gutters, leading to water damage. Their droppings are acidic and can erode building materials over time.

Squirrel Removal

When squirrels nest in your home, they can gnaw on wood, wiring, and pipes, creating structural damages that can be expensive to repair.

Rodent Removal

Roof rats love St. Augustine's live oaks and older attics, and downtown restaurants keep commercial rodent pressure high. We trap, then seal the gaps with rodent proofing and exclusion so new rats cannot follow.

Bat Removal

Historic eaves, barrel tile, and loose trim give bats warm gaps to roost. Bats are protected in Florida, so we use one-way exclusion during the legal season, never poison or trapping.

Opossum Removal

Snakes

Marsh edges, canals, coquina walls, and garages along the Matanzas River all draw snakes. Quick Catch holds an FWC venomous reptile license, so please leave any snake to us rather than trying to handle it.

Local Wildlife Patterns

Our own Jacksonville Wildlife Calendar tracks what Northeast Florida homeowners call about month by month, and St. Augustine follows the same rhythm. In January, rodents, raccoons, and squirrels look for warm attics and crawlspaces. February brings early nesting around rooflines, vents, and chimneys. Bat maternity season begins on April 16, and May is the peak for mothers with young in attics. Through June and July, snakes show up near garages, patios, and pool equipment, and fresh armadillo holes appear after summer rain. September storms open roofline gaps, and from October into December, cooler nights push animals indoors, where most people notice them by sound first.

What's Making That Noise in Your St. Augustine Home?

What You Hear animal
Heavy thumping or walking overhead at night
Usually a raccoon. In spring, add chattering or crying, which often means a mother with kits.
Scratching or rolling near the roofline after dark
Often a raccoon testing a soffit or vent from outside.
Fast, light scurrying inside walls or ceilings, mostly at night
Roof rats or mice.
Gnawing or chewing sounds, plus small dark droppings
Rodents working on wood, wiring, or stored boxes.

Tip: do not seal an opening until you know what is inside. Closing a hole too early can trap young animals or bats.

October: Roof Rats and Raccoons in the Historic District

October is when rats, squirrels, raccoons, and bats start testing small openings ahead of cooler nights. In the older homes of the Historic District and Lincolnville, that tends to show up as chewing at roof returns, fresh droppings in the attic, and light scratching inside walls. It is a smart month for an exterior entry-point check: bat exclusion is legal again after August 14, and sealing gaps now keeps winter guests out.

Pest Control Services in St. Augustine

Yes, we do more than wildlife. Quick Catch offers full pest control in St. Augustine, covering ants, roaches, spiders, fleas, wasps, silverfish, centipedes, earwigs, and mosquitoes, the insects that thrive in a warm, humid, marsh-side city. We hold Florida Pest Control License #JB329824, and because we already know how animals get into a building, we treat the same cracks, vents, and crawlspaces insects use. Many St. Augustine customers combine a wildlife job with pest control in one visit.

Spider Removal in St. Augustine

Most spiders around a St. Augustine home are harmless and even helpful, but widows deserve respect. UF/IFAS notes that widow spiders build webs in corners of buildings and entryways, under eaves, and in cluttered storage closets and garages, and that their venom is significant for people (UF/IFAS Gardening Solutions). The brown widow, with its orange hourglass and spiky egg sacs, has spread throughout Florida and likes spots behind hurricane shutters and inside mailboxes and empty pots (UF/IFAS Extension). Our spider removal service clears webs and egg sacs from eaves, lanais, garages, and porches, treats the areas where they return, and points out the clutter and gaps that keep bringing them back.

How Much Does Wildlife Removal Cost in St. Augustine?

As with any home repair, the price depends on the job. The biggest cost drivers are the type of animal, how many entry points need sealing, attic access and roof pitch (steep, older rooflines take more time), whether the job needs trapping, exclusion, repair, or all three, cleanup and sanitation, and whether the call comes after hours.

For a general sense of the market, 2026 national averages (not Quick Catch prices) put typical wildlife removal at about $198 to $635, raccoon removal at $400 to $600, and bat exclusion at $230 to $700, with minimum service fees commonly $150 to $250 (HomeGuide, HomeAdvisor). Quick Catch quotes after assessing your property, so you know the plan before work begins, and we offer a 10% discount for military members and first responders.

St. Augustine Wildlife & Pest Control FAQs

Does St. Johns County Animal Control remove wildlife?

Generally, no. St. Johns County Animal Control (904-209-0746) handles stray and loose dogs and cats (St. Johns County), not raccoons, rats, bats, or snakes in your home. For an animal bite or rabies concern, call the Florida Department of Health in St. Johns County at 904-506-6081 (DOH-St. Johns). Wildlife removal from private property is a paid private service, which is what Quick Catch provides.

Look for a licensed company that removes raccoons humanely, checks for babies, and seals the entry point afterward. Florida rules require captured nuisance wildlife to be released or humanely euthanized within 24 hours, and off-site releases need at least 40 contiguous acres in the same county with the landowner’s written permission (FWC). Quick Catch releases native animals only at sites where we have that permission.

Bat exclusion is allowed from August 15 through April 15. During maternity season, April 16 to August 14, it is not allowed, because flightless pups would be trapped inside. Exclusion devices stay up at least 4 nights with overnight lows forecast at 50°F or warmer, and poisons or relocating bats are illegal (FWC). Right now, in fall, is a good time to call.

Both. Our pest control service covers ants, roaches, spiders, fleas, wasps, silverfish, centipedes, earwigs, and mosquitoes, alongside our wildlife removal work. Many St. Augustine homeowners pair the two, because sealing animal entry points also cuts down on insects getting inside. We are licensed under Florida Pest Control License #JB329824 and can usually cover both needs in a single visit.
